thunderbird statment necklace with Rumi quote

Inspired by mythology and legends of the phoenix and also by stories of the native american thunderbird, I drew this shape on paper and then created the pendant out of sterling silver.
Engraved feathers cover the front of the pendant. On the back, I wrote the following quote by Rumi.

You were born with greatness. You have wings. Learn to use them and fly. Rumi

YES. Created as a talisman of boldness and as a reminder that you were made for greatness. Don't be afraid to reinvent yourself, or change the direction of your path. Rise from the ashes, dear one, and fly.

The pendant measures a hefty 2.5 inches wide by 2 inches tall.
A small ruby gemstone is set into one of the wings. A gemstone of the heart, it's a stone of passion and energy and protection.

The entire piece was oxidized black, and then hand polished to bring out the details.
A blackened sterling silver chain completes the fierce look.
20.5 inch chain.
Rotating lobster clasp and hand wrapped link closure.

The pendant hangs from a 14k yellow gold ring. A bit of alchemical symbology, representing the Sun from which the phoenix gets it's power of rebirth.
