sterling silver crescent moon necklace with sapphires

A gorgeous crescent moon necklace with sapphire craters, made by my two hands.

The crescent moon is an ancient symbol of femininity and wisdom.
I hand cut the pendant out of recycled sterling silver.

I melted silver onto the front, creating the texture that we associate with the Moon.
Five faceted white sapphires are gypsy set into sterling silver 'craters'.
On the back, I hand engraved the word Moondance and drew a heart.

The pendant measures 1.6 inches tall x .8 inch at it's widest.
19 inch sterling silver chain with rotating lobster clasp.
14k yellow gold jump ring.

The entire piece has been oxidized and then hand polished to bring out the details.
