Number 8 Mine turquoise necklace
This one of a kind necklace is incredibly special.
The star of this necklace is a hand cut cabochon of Number 8 Mine turquoise.
The stone sits in a heavy sterling silver bezel setting.
The stone measures 1.29 inch tall x .81 inch wide.
Classic blue with beautiful contrasting matrix.
The pendant back is cut out of thick sterling silver sheet.
I added a frame using a serpent that I carved out of silver and engraved with my tudor rose details.
The crowning touch is a rose bud that I made out of sterling silver.
The pendant measures 1.65 inches tall x 1.14 inch wide x .20 inch thick.
I added one of my tudor rose medallions to the back of the pendant.
The pendant hangs from a 14k gold ring.
19 inch sterling silver cable chain with lobster clasp closure.
Turquoise is a stone of protection, worn as an amulet since the beginning of time.
It's worn to balance and align the chakras, and thought to help ward of panic attacks and depression.
A talisman of transformation, of healing, and protection.
The serpent is one of the oldest symbols used by man.
It represents the search for wisdom, rebirth, and desire.
In this design, I envisioned the circle of life and the Norse Ouroboros.
One of a kind.
I'm so very proud of this piece.
